Brian is stood at the front of the lecture hall ready to begin the lecture. The students are scattered around the room and have no interest in beginning the lesson. The Film crew are setting up their equipment in the corner of the room. Brian Leaves the room to make a call.
int. corridor day
Brian leans against the wall and gets his phone out of his pocket. He calls the head of department.
Brian
The class are playing up again. I’m fed up, is there no one you can send down to shut them up?
The person on the other end of the phone explains that he is very busy and cannot do anything about it at this point in time.
BRIAN
This is ridiculous. Its very embarrassing, I got the film crew in the room with me too…
The head teacher apologizes and the call ends.
INT. LECTURE HALL DAY
Brian re-enters the room and scans his surroundings. The students are still scattered around the room and are messing around with the web cams on their laptops. The filming crew are now ready to go. Brian diverts the students attention and begins his lecture on the power and dangers of CCTV.
BRIAN
Since the 1980′s, the UK has had more surveillance cameras installed than any other major city in the world. Statistics show that on an average day in London you are captured a staggering 300 times a day on CCTV. More and more people are fearing George Orwell’s dystopian novel ’1984′ and its central theme of Big Brother becoming a reality. Surveillance has caused much controversy. Perhaps most famous is ‘The Watergate Scandal’ and its subsequent cover up by The White House in which former president Richard Nixon approved bugging and audio surveillance of his opposition during the 1972 presidential election. This scandal lasted 2 years and resulted in the only resignation of a US president in history, by doing this he avoided trial and perhaps even prison. The main question asked by the public nowadays is ‘Are these camera’s actually for our protection or just to keep an eye on us’ and much of the public are complaining about invasion of privacy.
INT. LECTURE HALL DAY
Brian begins the first lecture of the day with the morning register. The students reply with a ‘yep’ accordingly to their names.
BRIAN

When Brian has finished calling the register. He promptly leaves the room while the class being to talk again.
int. corridor day
Brian makes a phone call. His voice is reduced from his usual authoritative register to a much calmer tone.
BRIAN
Hey…Where are you? Are you alright?
response from unknown caller
perhaps you should take some Paracetamol? Are we still on for tonight?
Affirmative response from caller
I’ll see you later. Bye.
EXT. meeting location night
Brian is stood by his car and looking into the night. He paces back and forward and checks the time on his phone. It is ten minutes to the arranged meeting time. He calls the same person that he called earlier to inform then that he has arrived at the location.
BRIAN
Hey. I’m there.
the voice on the other end tells him that they are running late but will be there soon.
It’s fine…I’ll see you in a bit…
Halfway through the sentence, he hears a footstep behind him, he begins to turn his head around but a hand conceals his mouth before he has the chance to make a noise. Before he is completely constrained, Brian manages to slip his phone back in his pocket, but does not end the call. Everything fades to black, but the person on the other end of the phone can be heard;
caller
Hello? Are you still there? HELLO?!?
int car night
Brian wakes up in a car. he is tied up in the backseat and is prevented from speaking by the cloth around his mouth. he car see and hear two men talking in the front seat. The rope around his hands is loose enough for his to be able to reach into his pocket. He still has his phone. Brian begins to record but it is very dark.
INT. hostage base night
Brian is tied up in the corner of the room. He can see a larger group of ‘terrorists’ at the other end of the room. The room is smoky and dark.
Brian begins to record again. He records a conversation of the terrorists discussing their plans and morals.
the terrorists make a video in which they hold a gun to Brian’s head. He remains silent as instructed but looks very scared and the terrorists make threats into a camera.
INT. HOSTAGE BASE NIGHT
Brian is still blindfolded in a corner of the room. He is still able to record from his phone. The ‘leader’ of the group is trying to reassure the rest of the group that they have done the right thing. The lead terrorist then approaches Brian and unties him. He invited him to join the rest of the group. Brian follows the leader into the circle, still remaining silent.
The rest of the terrorists are drinking and joking around. Brian tries to blend in by laughing along with the terrorists at appropriate times, but never lets his guard down.
After a while, the leader turns to Brian and asks him how he felt about everything.
BRIAN
I think I understand why I’m here.
And yes, in some ways I do agree with your motives. I can’t believe how totalitarian the American Government has become.
However, I don’t think that this is the best way to go about taking a stand against it. I can see your opinions are strong, but there are better ways to solve this.
The leader proceeds to tell Brian what his views are and why they have kidnapped him. Brian listens carefully and begins to understand the terrorists a little better.
The leader tells Brian that he admires his strong mind and opinions and insists that he would be a good cyber terrorist. As a friendly gesture, he suggests that they make a second video for a joke. He orders Brian to put on a balaclava. He now looks similar to the others in the room.
Brian gets up and walks over to the rest of the group. All of a sudden, light pours in from different directions as the doors are forced open. Sounds of shouting and gunfire flood the room and then all is silent.
