Thought I would upload my CV as I’m getting a lot of hits from people searching for CV and portfolio design. Hope this helps anyone searching!

This is my baisic CV design. This is the CV I would issue to employers for a part time job. I’ll upload my digital media CV another time.
Ignore the font style for now. I don’t have Helvetica at the moment so I have substituted with Gill Sans MT. I always use a reasonable Sans or a Serif for something formal such as a CV or important document.
I’ve spent a lot of time researching the ‘prefect CV’ and to be honest, there isn’t one. To make this one, I followed some simple guidelines:
- Use a nice clean font which is easy to read, and compliments the style of your CV.
- Keep it straight to the point, Don’t make it hard for the reader to find the information they are looking for.
- Make it visually interesting but don’t over-do it. Make it too ‘pretty’ and it might put the reader off.
- When listing your previous employment and education, Start from your most recent and work your way back.
- Ideally, a CV should only be a page long. It’s suggested that potential employers can be put off by pages of information, so make it easier for them by keeping everything they need to know about you on one page.
- Avoid trying to bulk it out with extra information to make it look like you’ve got more to offer.
